The students have been learning how to partition the numbers in two ways.

VOCABULARY

Partition: When you break a larger number into smaller parts..

Example: 4 and 2 makes 6, 3 and 3 makes 6, 5 and 1 makes 6 and 6 and 0 makes 6. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child, using objects or materials in your home show the different ways to make and break apart numbers. 

Write down all the different ways you were able to break apart the number.
