This term we have been doing lots of fun things. Miss G our teacher, has left to travel to Ireland this term and we miss her a lot but we have a new teacher called Mrs Donato - she is kind, caring and amazing.

In Writing, we have been working on "Ban the boring”.  We either ban boring words like cool, like and good and use better words like Amazing, Awesome and Wonderful. Those are way better words! We have been creating posters about Ban the boring! We love using our ideas and our thinking skills.

In Math we have been learning Fractions and different fractions for example  ¾ and  1 whole.  Some favorite fractions are ⅓ ½. One of our tasks was to make a pizza or cake image and show the correct fraction part. They were really fun AS we had partners with us to help work out some ideas on how to display them.

We have a time out zone” in our classroom - it is a relaxing space and a quiet work space. If we earn ten dojo’s or more by following our school expectations, we get to pick our reward time by ourselves or you can have the time with a friend. We have fidget toys, colouring in things, puzzles and loom bands there as well.

In Faith life we have been learning about the age of exploration. We have been searching about some explorers like Santiago Amerigo, Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo and Neil Armstrong. We also watched a video of the Apollo 11 mission where they flew to the moon. We are about to start a project on an explorer from a long time ago.

This term, Year 3s’ participated in Cross country for the first time. Everyone gave it a go and tried their best. Some students went on to the Regional Cross country events. It was a huge challenge for everyone and we can’t wait for next year.

We are looking forward to the rest of Term 2.

To finish off, we would like to share with everyone what we strive to do in our classroom:
