Principal's Page

Dear Families,

I hope all families enjoyed a relaxing and fun-filled holiday. I enjoyed the local area with many family and friends visiting.

I represented St Joseph's at two events over the holidays. I attended the launch of the Two Bays Podcast which includes inspiring stories from local businesses and organisations and how they tackle climate change. Jane Byrne will be speaking in an episode to be released soon. I also attended Opera on the Bay hosted by the Portsea Camp and the Rotary Club of Sorrento. It was a fundraising evening supporting musical enrichment programs for children. Money raised from the evening will fund 15 students from local schools to be transported to Hammer Hall to experience a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra concert .

I look forward to a wonderful term ahead. We have many rich learning experiences and exciting events planned.

St Joseph's Award

Congratulations to Hamish and Olive who received the St Joseph's Awards at our last assembly.

Uniform

Students wear the school winter uniform in Term Two and Three. Due to Melbourne's unpredictable weather, we will allow the students a couple of weeks to transition. The winter uniform is: long blue pants or shorts, tunic, long blue shirt, jumper, spray jacket and navy tights or socks. Students are asked not to wear branded socks such as Globe, Santa Cruz etc. A reminder that no jewellery is to be worn and hair passed the shoulders need to be tied up. Students have been reminded of this today. Your support with this will be greatly appreciated.

Students wanting to walk behind the school banner are asked to wear their school uniform and meet at 11:30am outside the Sorrento Newsagency.
