Hello Everyone,

Earlier this week, we celebrated our founders, the de La Salle Brothers and the Presentation Sisters. We were extremely fortunate to begin our day with Mass celebrated by Fr Luke and Fr Sebastian at St Mary’s Parish Church in Dandenong. Together with the Year 5 and 6 students and their teachers from St Mary’s Primary School as well as the parishioners, we gave thanks to God for St John the Evangelist, St John Baptist de La Salle and the Venerable Nano Nagle. After returning to the College we began our activities that were run by Houses. There were a variety of activities and food stalls available to all. We concluded the day with our Talent Quest, which was jam-packed with wonderful surprises. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners and all those who showcased their amazing talents. Not to mention our hilarious hosts Mrs Aldis and Mr Barker. Overall, the day was fantastic; it seemed that everyone enjoyed the activities and stalls that were offered. A big thank you to all the House Leaders, House Captains, students and staff who helped organise and run the activities and food stalls. An extra big thank you to Mr Van Es and Mr Rhynehart who put the day together for us.

Take care and God bless,

Abigail Cachart

MAD Day is finally happening once again!! On Friday 29 June, students at the College will fundraise and walk a shocking 8km to raise awareness for charitable foundations. It is a day for the College community to unite under our core values of compassionate love and an empathetic urge to support those in need.

Throughout our fundraising campaigns, we work with:

  • Wellsprings for Women, an organisation that was established in 1994 and based in Dandenong by the Presentation Sisters. They act to support and protect women in domestic and work settings in the name of Nano Nagle. Our College has worked to fund their efforts for over 15 years now and will continue to do so.
  • The Lasallian Foundation is an organisation established in 2004 by the De La Salle Brothers to support educational works and initiatives in Asia-Pacific regions. Our College has worked to fund specifically St Solomon's School in Pakistan which provides general education and resources.

In the upcoming weeks to MAD Day, as a College community, we aim to raise a total of $15,000. Keeping in mind that our fundraising efforts are to support these charitable foundations, we need to work as a team to make this dream come true.

We ask that each student raises a donation of $20 from a number of sponsors in order to ‘Make a Difference’ to the lives of these people.

Thank you for your ongoing support and we wish you a blessed day.
