5/6 Class Snapshot
Good Afternoon everyone we are from 5/6 and this is our snapshot of what’s happening in our classroom.
Chickens
Recently we have acquired four chickens. As a class we chose to name a chicken ‘Chippy Brown’. Each classroom will have an opportunity to choose a name for the chickens. We have some jobs that take care of the chickens. We use recycled water from the drinking taps to fill up their water. We collect the chickens' food scraps and put them in the compost bin to keep their cage clean. Another way we keep the chickens' cage clean is we patch up the holes that the chickens dig. We will also eventually collect their eggs once they start laying and sell them. When you're outside next, you can say hello to chippy brown.
New people in our classroom
We have some new kids, a new teacher and new LSOs in our classroom. This term we have two new students, Beau and Charlotte, join our classroom, they are a great addition to our classroom. We also have Mrs Jones, the new 5/6 teacher in our classroom. She is very friendly and we are excited to have her with us. The new LSOs in our classroom are Miss Wicks on Fridays and Mrs Cook on wednesdays. They are both very helpful and kind and it is great to have them in our classroom.
The wild robot
As a class we have been reading ‘The Wild Robot’ written by Peter Brown. It’s a really good book and we have been doing projects about what we have read. The story is about a robot named Roz who learns to live a life in the forest and makes friends with the animals that live there.
