with Mrs Ramsden

Hello and welcome to the exciting world of STEM!

This term the students have really enjoyed our unit on engineering and discovering the many different ways to construct bridges.

Within this unit students were introduced to the many different types of bridges we may come across around town and throughout the world. We also learnt what makes them so strong and the engineered name for each bridge is. Such as - truss, beam, suspension, cantilever, cable stay and arch to name a few.

The bridge building project engaged students in hands-on learning, fostering their understanding of structural engineering principles.

All students were introduced to engineering through our interactive learning space where we could design, create and build many different types of bridges using a variety of materials.

Students demonstrated excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout the project, effectively collaborating to design and construct sturdy bridges.

The incorporation of real-world applications, such as analysing load distribution and material selection, enriched students' learning experiences and highlighted the relevance of STEM concepts.
