School Captains

Thank you to the school community who participated in our most recent Casual Clothes Day fundraiser.

This event raised over $2000 toward our cause, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.  It has been great to have so much support and to know that our collective donations will make a real difference to a great cause!

On Casual Clothes day, the SRC also ran  a barbeque to boost our earnings (a big hit!) so we are well on our way to reaching our 2024  goal of raising $10,000 in support of the ILF.

We take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bakers Delight Barkly Square which donated ALL the bread for the barbeque,  and to Madina Meats - long time community partner of BSC  which always readily supports the BSC Parents' Association fundraising ventures.

If you frequent either of these retailers, please take the chance to say thanks as well!

Fundraising for others, such as organisations like the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, serves several important purposes:

Gallery Image

Supporting a Cause: It allows us to contribute to causes and organisations that are making a positive impact in our community or beyond. These organisations often work on issues that affect vulnerable or marginalised groups, providing essential services and support.

Building Community and Empathy: Fundraising activities bring our school community together around a common goal. It fosters a sense of unity, empathy, and shared purpose among students, staff, and families.

Educational Opportunity: It provides a valuable educational opportunity for students to learn about social issues, the importance of philanthropy, and the power of collective action. It helps instil values such as compassion, generosity, and responsibility.

Making a Difference: By fundraising, we have the ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Whether it's providing resources for education, healthcare, environmental conservation, or other needs, our contributions can create positive change.

Promoting Social Justice: Fundraising for organisations that work towards social justice and equity helps address systemic issues and promote fairness and equality in society.

Overall, fundraising for others aligns with our values of caring for our broader community, fostering empathy and responsibility in our students, and actively contributing to positive social change.
