From the Principal
Last week we marked the shortest day and longest night of the year with the winter solstice, it is the end of June on Sunday, and we find ourselves at the end of Term 2.
We will have our end of term assembly tomorrow at 2pm and the highlight of this is listening to the end of term wraps from each year level. The students at PPS demonstrate our Super 6 values both in and outside the classroom and should be extremely proud of their achievements this semester.
Term 3 does not slow down. We are looking forward to our mini-Olympics fun run in the first week of August. Grade 4 and 6 children have camp, house athletics for children in Grades 3-6, Foundation students will celebrate 100 days at school, we have a whole school incursion, and will end the term with footy day.
Thank you to our parent community who have supported the school this half year through assisting with; Garden club, Second hand uniform, Mother’s Day stall & breakfast, Camp, Excursions, Special lunch days, PPA, Parent Class Reps, School council and in the classroom. Your time and assistance are very much appreciated.
Today PPS took part inThe Great Book Swap. All children were invited to bring along one of their books from home (a book they already had that they were happy to swap with someone else, not a new book). They then swapped the book with another child in their class. Students brought along a gold coin to raise funds to provide quality children's books to remote Indigenous communities of Australia. Thank you to everyone who took part and we are proud to announce that the swap raised $581.35 which will help The Indigenous Literacy Foundation gift 18,000 new, carefully chosen books to children in remote Communities across the country.
End of Term 2
The end of term is on Friday 28th June. We will hold an assembly at 2:00pm with an early dismissal of 2:30pm. Children will be dismissed from their classrooms.
We wish everyone a relaxing and safe holiday.
Kind regards
Leanne Bradney
