Visual Arts News
Here is a snapshot to celebrate the fun filled learning and artmaking students have participated in on the Springvale Campus.
FLC students have experimented with drawing, collage and painting materials to make artwork. They produced linear marks, textured rubbings to draw images on different surfaces, experimented with painting tools to mix and make secondary colours and used coloured shapes and materials to produce imaginative collages.
JLC students used elements such as line, shape and colour to create imaginative drawings collages and paintings inspired by Australian cultural events and artists including Reconciliation Week and Sydney Nolan’s artwork titled Footballer. They are currently developing skills in the use of textile materials in art making.
MLC have used drawing tools and processes to produce self-portraits with graphite pencil. They experimented with colour and painting techniques to create vibrant landscape of water lilies inspired by the Impressionist artists Claude Monet and applied collage processes to design and produce abstract collages of trees like the artist Gustav Klimt.
SLC students used drawings, collage techniques and the elements value and form to produce self-portraits as well as a series of linear images of water to design collages inspired by David Hockney’s artwork. They are currently applying painting techniques to design art installations influenced by Yayoi Kusama' sculptures.
Our three SLC Art Captains Manroop Kaur, Long Nguyen and Michelle Selena Nguyen have been doing a fantastic job of announcing Visual Arts awards at assemblies and assisting with art room organisation.
