Book Week

Book Week is just around the corner and we are so excited to announce that we will be welcoming award-winning author, actor and playwright Sofie Laguna to our school on Wednesday, 21st August. 

Sofie, who has written books for both adults and children, will be sharing her experiences and inspiring our students to build their storytelling skills through interactive and entertaining presentations catered to each year level. All students will get the opportunity to hear Sofie speak during one of three sessions- Prep-2s, 3/4s and 5/6s. 

We look forward to having Sofie visit us during Book Week and are excited to hear all about her life and experiences as a published writer.

Celebrating with two whole-school events:

Event #1: Snuggle-Up and Read

Friday the 16th of August 

(This is the Friday prior to the commencement of Book Week)

2:15pm -2:45pm

Families (parents/grandparents) are invited to read a story in your child’s classroom. This will be done in House Colour groups, so siblings will be in the same area.

Students are welcome to bring a blanket to snuggle up and read during this time.

(Blankets will not be permitted outside)

Event #2: Book Week Dress-Up Day

Monday the 26th August

Dress up as your favourite book character – think sustainably (reuse, recycle)

Mix and match clothes from home to make your own creative costumes.

There will be a parade on the day located on the Tiger Turf from 9:15am-10:15am.

Families are welcome and encouraged to stay and attend the event.

Classroom teachers will share photos capturing the event via Seesaw for families that are unable to attend.
