Foundation (Prep)

English/Inquiry

We have had fun delving further into our inquiry unit, Staying Alive. We have read about how food does different jobs in our bodies and why is is so important for us to eat a range of healthy food. Students then wrote about what they had learnt inside giant fruits and vegetables. Cutting out and making our fruits and vegetables was another way to strengthen our fine motor skills and of course have fun with our learning.

Maths/Inquiry

Inquiry has also filtered into our Maths this fortnight. We have focused on Graphing. Students have been introduced to picture graphs and some of the vocabulary we use when discussing what a graph tells us, e.g. more, less, most and least. Prep C has collected information and presented it in different ways, asking questions and discussing our findings.

We have also practised measuring Length. The class had a lesson outside in the Learning Shack where we measured how far we could jump using icy pole sticks. The students helped each other mark and measure their jumps. They then returned to the classroom to record their findings.

We also took the time to measure some smaller items in the classroom and focused on recording our findings.

I am very proud of everyone's effort in class.

Keep up the great work Prep C!
