Performing Arts

THIS TERM IN THE CLASSROOM...

Students in foundation and year 1 will be focusing on drama this term. Students will practice non-verbal communication and take turns in offering and accepting story ideas in a group setting. Students in year 2 will use objects and technology to create ideas and stories, as well as participating in small-group improvisations. Year 3/4 students are focusing on Music this term. They will use the five elements of Music to analyse songs, play percussion instruments and learn the ukulele. The year 5/6 students will use the elements of Dance to analyse dances from various cultures, and learn, practice and perform body percussion choreographies.

I would like to say a big thank you to our choir members for getting up to perform at assembly last Friday! You did a wonderful job, and I look forward to keep working with you all this year!

Class Concerts

I am incredibly impressed by all the musical talents shown this week at our class concerts. We've had a large variety of performances, including instruments, singing, dance and drama! Well done to all students who went on stage to give it a red hot go - it's not always easy getting up and showcasing yourself, but you've all done an amazing job.
