Le Bulletin Francais

Avec Monsieur Roast

Bonjour mes amis!

La joie de vivre continues in la classe de Francais as students are building up their vocabularies and applying their knowledge to write about aspects of time and weather.  Plenty of memorising, reciting, singing and drawing to consolidate their mastery of the French language.

A very special day in Foundation French as we were joined by the students' families and friends.  Our guests helped to draw scenes from the four seasons and even sang along to "Les Quatre Saisons".  Can you identify the seasons?

Le Printemps

L'Ete

L'Automne

L'Hiver

Grades 1 and 2 have learnt the days of the week, and are now working on the months of the year.  Students sang along to "Les Sept Jours dans La Semaine", and know the words off by heart.

See if they can tell you what days these are:

Lundi

Mardi

Mercredi

Jeudi

Vendredi

Samedi

Dimanche

Grades 3 and 4 have learnt some basic weather expressions, and then created inspiring visual displays for our weather wall.

See if you can translate these expressions into English:

Il pleut

Il fait de l'orage

Il fait du soleil

Il neige

Il fait chaud

Grades 5 and 6 copied and translated weather expressions from a French song entitled "Quel Temps fait-il?".  Then, students recorded themselves saying or singing the words.  Their favourite line was "sauf pour les canards" - ask them what it means.

After four fun-filled weeks in the French classroom, I am hanging up my beret.

Madame Higgins returns from leave, and will be introducing merveilleuse new topics for the students to learn about.

Merci et au revoir,

Monsieur Roast
