PRIMARY DIVISIONAL CROSS COUNTRY

On Friday the 10th of May we took a team of 22 Primary students just up the road to Noorat to compete in the Corangamite district schools primary cross country. All our students tried their very best with a special mention to Erica Gibbons who finished in 2nd place overall in the 9yo Girls race. Erica received a 2nd place ribbon & certificate for her efforts. We also had a number of students finish in the top 8 who will proceed to the next level which is in Warrnambool next Friday the 17th of May. Congratulations Elise & Connor Jewell, Ayden Gibbins

PRIMARY GWR CROSS COUNTRY

Last Friday Mortlake College sent 3 students to the GWR Primary Cross Country! In what was a wet miserable day and very trying conditions Elise, Conner and Ayden did a great job running the cross-country course. Big Congratulations to you three for making it that far.

Primary District Athletics

On Friday the 3rd of May, Jaxon Reichman & Alex Dennis represented Mortlake P-12 College at the Primary WHP district athletics competing against schools from as far as Portland, Hamilton & Warrnambool. The event was held at Brauerander Park in Warrnambool, and over 50 schools had student representation. In the very 1st event of the day Jaxon competed in the 9-10 Boys 80 Meter Hurdles and had a fantastic result coming 3rd in his heat & 3rd overall which gets him through to the regional level in Ballarat in October. Jaxon’s 2nd event was the 9-10 boys 100m and in a very competitive race finished 6th in his heat & 10th overall. Alex competed in the 9-10 boys Shot Put, Alex’s best throw was a distance of 6.15m just missing out on a podium finish by 1cm. Well done to both Boys, great achievement to make this level and represent Mortlake College.
