Planting Session

The Environment Club is currently in the progress of organising a planting session to help re-wild our school grounds, to be held late in Term 2.

Container Deposit Scheme Victoria

There’s a new initiative in place to support East Doncaster Secondary College and help the environment. EDSC is now a registered charity with Victoria’s container deposit scheme. This means every time you recycle a container through the scheme (handily, there’s a reverse vending machine down the road at Rieschieck’s Reserve), you can select our school to donate your 10c refund. It’s as simple as choosing to donate your refund to charity, then selecting “East Doncaster Secondary College.”

This money will go directly towards enhancing our school facilities and providing better learning opportunities for our students. We encourage all of our school community to get behind raising funds for EDSC, 10 cents at a time. Let’s recycle, donate and make a difference together.

Specialist recycling facilities are available at EDSC 

We set up recycling boxes for pens, empty whiteout containers and markers (in The JLC, Chisholm Open Area and Library), it would be appreciated if you drop them in those boxes when they are finished. The more kilos of pens we save from landfill, the more money we can win to improve our school environment.

In addition, please drop any batteries, bottlecaps, and bread tags you have used at school or at home, at the Library instead of the general rubbish. 

We also offer disposable coffee cup recycling in the General Office Staffroom, The JLC and the K5/K6 Open Area. Please bring a reusable cup, but when you forget, make sure you recycle it and reduce waste to landfill. 

Can you help the Environment Club?

We are excited to be expanding our Environment Club’s gardening program, creating a hands-on experience that fosters curiosity among our students. However, we need your help!

Do you have old gardening equipment, native or fruiting plants cluttering up your house? We kindly request that you consider donating them to EDSC.
