Busy times again at Wales Street PS Library with over three hundred students signed up for the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, and all classes participating in National Simultaneous Storytime 2024 on Wednesday May 22 at lunch eating time. 

Over 2.3 million children and adults in Australia, New Zealand and a little beyond were reading “Bowerbird blues”, by Aura Parker sometime today.

Many students are getting to explore the book more deeply over the week in Library class and their own classrooms. The language is rich, the  illustrations so detailed, with lots of surprises to be found and many of us learnt some facts about the Bowerbird, even though this book is classed as Fiction. The line is much more blurred these days!
