Food Tech

Students have been working their way through meals with some elaborate or more difficult elements to become proficient in the kitchen. The images below are of Thai Beef Salad and Indian Butter Chicken made from scratch! The Senior Food Tech students are becoming excellent at delivering quality dishes from complex recipes.

Also, last week the Year 8 boys made Fried Chicken and Chips, accompanied by a surprise visit from Mr. Rouse. He shared an interesting fact about Ugandan culture: Fried Chicken and Chips is a cherished meal for many courting couples in Uganda. This cultural insight sparked curiosity among the students, fostering a deeper appreciation for global traditions as they enjoyed their homemade dish. It's moments like these that highlight the joy of exploring diverse cultures through food.

Lastly, the Year 7 girls enjoyed making Cupcakes in their Food Tech class this week.

Year 7 Bike Education

Over the last five weeks, the Year 7's have been undertaking a bike education course for Physical Education. This course has included students learning about the road rules while on a bike, including using a roundabout, T-intersections, giving way, using hand signals and staying to the left on the road.

This past week, students embarked on a journey outside the school grounds, where they rode their bikes through the local streets around King's College. This journey included some busy intersections and roads that students had to navigate safely. I am extremely proud of the students who took part in this ride on the roads, as it was taken seriously and with care. Congratulations to the Year 7's.
