Lunch Netball Comp

Thanks to Ms Parris for her effort, work and dedication - students are currently competing in a lunch-time netball competition. The games offer students an opportunity to positively engage with each other during their free time at school. Whether cheering, playing, scoring, time-keeping or helping out in another role, students have been enjoying themselves. Students have demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, participation, and volunteer contributions.

Lunch Soccer

Australia v Chile was the theme of last week's lunch time soccer game. Organised by Roberto with assistance from Bob Flower (Rotary) who also refereed, the students had an awesome game.

Interschool Sport - AFL

The senior girls team spent Wednesday at Wodonga Race Course playing a few games of Footy. A majority of the players had never played a game before, with a warm up and skills practice getting them through the day. They were excited to win the first game, with Evelyn and Carmela scoring all the goals, thus making them the star players in their team mates eyes. The students had an amazing day, enjoyed by all and they can't wait to return next year with some more skills and practice behind them. Thanks also to the students who volunteered their time as sport helpers for the day.

The Junior Female team, coached by the astute powerhouse Billie, dominated the competition by winning 2 of their games. Bianca was commended on her high number of possessions, and a few long-range goals. Grace was a strong asset with her attack resulting in the ball staying at our end of the field. Misha was tough as nails, throwing herself into tackles to contest the ball; Bridget also played an aggressive game with some strong marks, but was sadly sidelined with a finger injury in the last game. Shelby was a great leader, directing traffic and attacking the footy. All the Mount Beauty SC players were talented. What's also impressive is that these junior players teamed up with students from Corryong to fill a side. Building confidence in each other, getting to know the strengths of their new teammates, and coming together to play well - all had to happen in an instant. We'd like to give a shout out to Billie who demonstrated her skill, knowledge, passion and positivity while coaching the team.

Well done to all students who demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship and positive attitudes while representing our school.

Thankyou to the staff and volunteers for supporting and supervising the players to make this opportunity possible.
