Ross Fagan and Graeme Shields Memorial Trophy – 1st XV Game

This weekend at Oxford Falls marks the highly anticipated first game of the season, as our mighty 1st XV Rugby team takes on powerhouse St Aloysius in the battle for the prestigious ‘Ross Fagan Shield'. This match presents a great opportunity to support the 1st XV as they commence their 2025 campaign.

We encourage all students to attend and show their support by standing together on the sidelines of Chaplin #1 for the 3:15 pm kick-off. A strong presence from the school community can make a meaningful impact while encouraging our 1st XV.

Whether you are a keen rugby supporter or simply looking to be part of the occasion, we welcome you to join us at Oxford Falls this Saturday. We look forward to seeing you there.

Opens Rugby Camp

Last Friday, our selected Opens Rugby squad departed for our Wamberal facility, Workul Koo, for an intensive training camp focused on team cohesion, strategic combinations, and skill execution in a game environment.

The camp commenced with a game of beach rugby, fostering camaraderie among the players, followed by a Super Rugby analysis session to deepen their positional understanding.

Saturday morning presented challenging beach training conditions, testing the players' resilience and fitness. After refuelling with a well-earned breakfast, the squad travelled to Central Coast Grammar School for a high-intensity session on the all-purpose field. This session emphasised positional play and micro-skills, and despite the pouring rain, the players demonstrated commendable commitment and enthusiasm.

A special thank you to Mr Mike Cross, Mr Dominic McGeekie, Mr James Maloney, and Mr Matt Stearn for their invaluable support in coaching and logistics, ensuring the camp ran seamlessly.

With a strong foundation set, we eagerly anticipate an exciting and competitive season ahead.

Holiday Rugby Clinic

The annual Easter Holiday rugby clinic will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 16 - 17 April.  This is a great opportunity for the students to make sure they are well and truly prepared for the season and will help them put their best foot forward for the ISA season. Coaching staff will be Trytime coaches and special guest coaches.  Position-specific coaching will be given, as well as team play.  It is a great chance for students to work on their skills and confidence before the season commences.
