We are your 2025 Wellbeing Leaders. Last Friday, we celebrated Harmony Day. Below you can see what each year level did for Harmony Day.
Foundation: They read a book called ‘We are all people’, in the library. They learnt what Harmony Day means to other people, that it is okay to be different and it is okay to be from a different culture \ religion.
Year 1: Along with their Year 6 buddies traced their hands and coloured them in and wrote what they are grateful for. They then cut them out and put them on a poster.
Year 2: Made posters about Harmony Day writing and drawing what Harmony Day means. They used a lot of orange which represents social connectivity and respect.
Year 3: Read an article about what Harmony Day means to people around the world and then they answered questions about Harmony Day.
Year 4: Wrote cards to give to people and wrote down what they are grateful for and how it helps them. They also read a book in Peer Connect about Harmony Day.
Year 5: Were doing NAPLAN on Harmony Day but they did manage to squeeze in a lesson. They read a book called Emmanuel’s Dream which was about a boy with one deformed leg but he managed to ride around his country in 2001, never giving up.
Year 6: The Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders planned an activity where you draw yourself and put it on a paper tree to show that everyone is different. The tree has been put on display in the Year 6 end of the SLC.
We hope that everybody did something for Harmony Day this year even if it was just something small in your home, workplace or school. Remember it is always okay to be different or do something differently!
Have a great week everybody and happy Harmony Day!!!!
Thank you
