On Sunday April 6th many in our community joined Alana's Army and participated in the Run for the Kids event to support the Royal Children's Hospital. We were so proud of your support for Alana Wickham and her parents Phil and Laura. The Army has raised $19,878. Enjoy the pictures included below of Alana and many of her supporters from BPPS.
This term has commenced with our teachers and students undertaking a Start Up program. They have all spent time further embedding:

We are excited to have a BBQ, cake stall and our coffee machine happening this Saturday May 3rd.
The cake stall needs your help!
Can you bake a cake?
Can you bake some muffins?
Can you bake some biscuits?
Can you make a slice?
Send your donation to school on Friday or drop them off on Saturday morning at the stall. We always have such delicious donations!
The BBQ will be starting from 7am with set up - cooking for all of the voters and raising funds for Junior School Council Project
The Coffee machine will be up and running early.
If you have not voted yet, be sure to drop in on your way into the Hall to cast your ballot.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - we still need some volunteers to assist with the stalls. If you can spare an hour or two, please use the link to add your name.
Volunteers for Election Day stalls
Congratulations to all of our students for their efforts at the Cross Country on Tuesday afternoon.
A special thanks to the parents who volunteered to assist with this great school event.
A thanks to the staff for their role throughout the event, especially Shannon Reeve who assisted with Health Pillar students and Carlos to set up in the morning.
A huge thanks and congratulations to Carlos Milan for running his first Cross Country event. Be sure to check the Sport and PE page for photos and a summary from Carlos.
This annual event is undertaken in the afternoon - with Belle Vue PS holding their event in the morning. It is great to continue supporting each other with sharing resources for this event.
Our school is holding an Open Day on Tuesday May 13th; this is a great opportunity for those looking for a new school to visit and see the school in action. We are holding tours at 9.30, 11.30 and 2.30pm. We are thrilled to have some of our parents volunteering to assist with tours and students who will share what it is like to be a student at BPPS.
We hope our students can invite their grandparents and special people to school on Tuesday May 13th from 9-11am. They do not have to be there for the whole two hours; they can pop in when they can. There will be activities to do together and a morning tea. More details to follow via COMPASS and WhatsApp.
At Boroondara Park Primary School, we prioritise regular school attendance. We will work with families to ensure students are in class with their peers and teachers and enjoying all the benefits that brings.
Attending school every day means experiencing what counts – the learning, friendship, fun and opportunities that can shape your child’s future.
We are currently working on an attendance action plan and will be working with the Department of Education to improve attendance at BPPS. We will be providing more information in the coming months about attendance in the newsletter and via COMPASS.
We understand that there are times when your child will need to miss school but to ensure minimal disruption to their education, please consider scheduling family holidays or medical/dental appointments outside of school time. If your child is well enough to attend but is worried about friendships, schoolwork or exams, please encourage them to come to school. Avoiding school can make these feelings worse and can create a negative pattern of behaviour.
If your child is having difficulty attending school, talk to their teacher or reach out to Shannon Reeve or myself about getting support.
We know that parents and carers can be juggling challenges daily to get your children to school. If your child must miss school, notify us as soon as possible via COMPASS so we can work together to support them.
For more information about the importance of everyday attendance, see Attendance and Missing School.
Remember, Everyday Counts.
We would love to have more! As a school community we want the opportunity to celebrate who we are. We would love all families to take the time to share their family history.
Thank you to those parents who have completed the induction and registration so they can volunteer at BPPS in 2025.
A reminder - All volunteers must undertake the induction and register to be involved in school activities.
