🎤 Get Ready for the Talent Show! 🎭

Calling all singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and performers...

The Talent Show is coming in Term 2! This is your chance to shine on stage and show off your skills. Whether you go solo, perform as a duo, or team up with classmates, now is the time to start planning your act! 🎶✨

Acts can be up to 2 minutes long, and each class will vote for two acts to compete in the Talent Show Heats.

So get creative, think outside the box, and start rehearsing! More details will be coming early next Term, but for now—let the talent planning begin! 🎬🌟

Bringing Stories to Life in Performing Arts

To finish off our imaginary trip around the world learning all about storytelling, our students have been busy creating and performing their own stories.

In Prep–2, students explored different real-world settings such as a café, hairdresser, vet, and building site. They stepped into character roles, using their voices, facial expressions, and actions to bring these environments to life. Building on this, they worked in groups to create their own short stories, developing a beginning, a problem, and a resolution. Through improvisation and rehearsal, they refined their performances, learning how to express themselves as a character and collaborate with their peers.

Meanwhile, our Grades 3–6 students have been working on Dreamtime story plays, with Grade 3 performing Tiddalick the Frog and Grade 4-6 students bringing different Dreamtime stories to the stage. After two weeks of rehearsing, considering stage positioning, and developing expressive performances, they proudly presented their plays. Watching them use storytelling techniques to honour these traditional tales was a highlight of the Term.

The enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork across all year levels this Term has been incredible. Students have grown in confidence, supported one another, and brought stories to life with energy and passion. It’s been a fantastic term of storytelling, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone's efforts.

Wishing everyone a happy Easter and restful school break,
