At Hackham East Primary School:
- The bell goes at 8:40 am.
- Learning programs begin at 8:50 am.
- If you arrive after 8:50 am, you'll need to sign your child in at the front office.
Being on time every day is important for your child's success at Hackham East Primary School. Here's why:
- More Learning: Arriving on time means your child won't miss out on any learning.
- Happy Start: Kids who are on time feel calm and ready to learn. Being late can make them feel rushed and upset.
- Smooth Class: When everyone is on time, the class runs smoothly without interruptions.
Here's how being late adds up:
- 5 minutes late: 3.4 days missed in a year.
- 10 minutes late: 6.9 days missed in a year.
- 15 minutes late: 10.3 days missed in a year.
- 20 minutes late: 13.8 days missed in a year.
- 30 minutes late: 20.7 days missed in a year.
To help mornings go smoothly:
- Be Positive: Talk about school in a positive way.
- Get Ready the Night Before: Lay out clothes, shoes, and pack lunches.
- Morning Checklist: Make a list of things to do in the morning, like getting dressed and brushing teeth.
- Set Reminders: Use alarms to remind everyone when it's almost time to leave.
- Limit Screens: Turn off TVs and devices during breakfast and getting ready.
- Leave on Time: Make sure to leave home early enough to arrive by 8:40 am.
- Independent Walkers: If your child walks to school, ensure they leave with plenty of time.
For safety and supervision reasons we ask that students do not arrive before 8.20am unless they are supervised by an adult before this time. A staff member is on duty from 8.30am. If you need to drop your child early, please organise for them to attend OSHC. Thanks for your support with this.
School Day Times
*Please note if students arrive after 8.51am, they must go via the front office to check in and collect a late pass – One of the Leadership Team will then walk them to class.
