Miss Marks' Message
Hello everyone,
It has been a busy fortnight at Teesdale Primary School. We celebrated the return of the TPS Superstar award at our most recent assembly. This award is being celebrated again given student feedback and will be a regular part of our assemblies. Our Wellbeing Leaders are taking note of nominations from students during their break time activities each Wednesday and Friday.
Last week, students spent time in the kitchen for their Kitchen Garden session. I heard many positive reviews of the garlic potatoes, including suggestions to add more garlic and chilli. Many students asked that we share the recipe for the garlic potatoes, so you can find it below.
This week, we are launching our new behaviour flowchart. The flowchart is a component of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour System, or SWPBS. SWPBS is an evidence-based framework for responding and reinforcing positive student behaviours. Our School Values underpin our behaviour expectations, and an important aspect of SWPBS is consistency in response to student behaviour. Our Behaviour Flowchart supports us to ensure we are responding in a systematic way to student behaviour to prioritise learning in a safe and predictable learning environment. To find out more, please read the Wellbeing Update from Miss Walker later in the newsletter.
A kind reminder regarding car parking at the school. Please note that car parking on our neighbours’ side of Sutherland Street is not permitted. We understand that car parking is challenging, particularly during pick up time each afternoon however we do need to prioritise everyone’s safety. Please sure this message with family members or friends who may be visiting the school during pick up and drop off times.
Lastly, we have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks! This Friday, we will celebrate Book Week. We invite students and adults to be part of our celebrations by dressing up as a book character, author or illustrator. Next Wednesday, our Parents' Club will support our students with the Father’s Day Stall. All gifts will be $5 and students will visit the stall with their class. Students who forget to bring their money to school are still welcome to select a gift and then collect it from the office before the weekend. In the final week of term, our Parents' Club are also hosting a special lunch. Order forms will be shared soon. Our School Leaders are also organising a fundraiser for Friday September 20. The School Leaders are inviting students to dress up to celebrate Footy Day for a gold coin donation to go towards Motor Neuron Disease research. We encourage everyone to stay tuned for the special event at our end of term assembly on the same day too!
Thanks everyone, take care and stay warm!
