Recorder Eisteddfod Winners!

Last Monday, nineteen CNPS students participated in RECORDARAMA, an Eisteddfod for recorder players.

The Senior Recorder Ensemble played together the pieces we played at assembly - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by Morricone and Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

All the ensembles played well, however, CNPS were awarded 1st Prize!!! with a score of 96% and the remarks - “excellent style” and “impressive players”. We were all thrilled to be there together.

Later the same night, six students played in the 10 and under solos and four played in the 12 and under solos. There was a lot of fine playing. Some participants were awarded prizes.

10 and under solos

Vivienne E Honourable Mention

Norah D- 3rd Prize,

Nicholas T - 2nd Prize,

Vivienne M - 1st Prize.

12 and under solos

 Matt Francisco 3rd Prize.

As their recorder teacher, I was so impressed and totally inspired by everyone who participated. I also need to mention the friendly and supportive way that all the students from CNPS conducted themselves during the entire event.

Here are a couple of photos from the night when we were very excited, having won the tiny trophy!
