There will be a Scotsburn representative to pass your child to at the bus loop at Chancellor Drive. We will be taking a class role for each evening performance, so students are marked present and dismissed by a teacher.
  • Drop off point for the evening performances is the bus stop on Chancellor Drive. *See map in parent handbook.
  • No school Friday, students need to be dropped off at the evening performance.
  • On Wednesday and Thursday, students will need to come dressed in clothing that has been requested.

SC1: black leggings or black pants. Girls’ hair to be tied up in ponytail where possible.

SC2: school kids - two plaits or braids for girls; Dark thoughts - hair out, black pants, black shoes.

The clothing items parents have sent their child in, such as leggings, will be sent home at the end of the day so that children can wear them to the evening performance.

  • Thursday and Friday Evening Performance, students will need to be dropped off a Founders Hall. Drop off point is the bus stop on Chancellor Drive. *See map in parent handbook.
  • Please ensure students have a named drink bottle with water. Also, it is a long evening, so children might like to bring a small bag with a non-messy snack while they wait.
  • Collecting Students at the end of Each Evening Performance - We expect the evening concert to finish at around 8:30- 8:45pm and we will be asking one parent per family to collect their children from the relevant holding rooms.
  • All children will need to be signed out. If you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up by another family, you will need to confirm with a Scotsburn staff member in advance.

*Scotsburn holding rooms Blainey Centre – Level 1 Tutorial room 901 – SC1 & SC2 (earliest access is 5:00pm on Thursday and 4:30pm on Friday)

  • Parent helpers backstage, you will need to collect your backstage passes before entering holding rooms and backstage areas. These will be handed to you on the day when you arrive by Jarrod or Ana.

We are very excited for you to see all the hard work that has been put in by the children and look forward to a brilliant performance! Thank you again to all the families that have assisted with the concert. We truly appreciate all your assistance.

Please do come and see us in the morning on Wednesday if you have any concert related questions. We want to make sure everyone is fully informed and comfortable with all arrangements for the three days.

Fathers’ and Special Friends Afternoon Tea

Last Friday we celebrated all of our fathers and special friends with an afternoon tea, book swap and play in the yard. It was great to see all of our visitors reading and playing with students, having a great time at the campus. Visitors were then treated to a Scotsburn assembly and sneak peak of the Concert Finale. We really do appreciate all that our fathers, father figures and special friends do to support our students at Scotsburn. Happy Fathers’ Day for this Sunday!

Book Week

Another exciting Book Week was had last week by all our Scotsburn students. Throughout the week we had lots of lunchtime activities, a visit to the Buninyong library and our epic ‘Fathers and Special Friends’ book grab. It was wonderful to see all our students reading their book with their guest and going home with a special book of choice on Friday.

Parent Survey

A final reminder to Scotsburn parents to please participate in the Parent/Guardian Survey.  As a campus and a school, we really appreciate and very much value your feedback so that we can continue to make Scotsburn the best place that it can be!

Thank you in advance!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

The survey can be accessed here https://www.orima.com.au/parent

All parents / caregivers / guardians at your school use the same six-digit PIN to access the survey.

Our school's generic PIN for the SCOTSBURN CAMPUS is: 252303

*Please note, there is a separate PIN for the Buninyong Campus. Buninyong families have received a different Compass notification

Scotsburn Swimming - Next week

A reminder that next week is swimming week. We will be heading to Federation University each day via bus, with our lesson times being 11:45am - 12:30pm. Bathers, towel and goggles will be needed every day next week, as well as a bag to put wet clothes in. If you are wanting to attend or volunteer, please contact one of the Scotsburn staff this week so that we can confirm arrangements and Working with Children Check requirements. Also, if you are planning on your child not participating in the swimming program, please let us know ASAP as they will not be able to attend each day, and we will need to make alternative arrangements.

If you have any questions about swimming, please pop in and see us.

SC1 Learning Snapshot

It is nearly here… our big performance is only a couple of sleeps away and boy have we worked hard and had some crazy fun along the way! During this last week we have worked hard on polishing up our performance and making sure we are all feeling confident and happy about being up on the big stage. We can’t wait to show you just what we have put together - we are sure you will love it. We are extremely proud of each and everyone of our students that has worked outside their comfort zone and continued to smile and try their best. The concert is such a great way to build resilience and work on the performing arts component of our curriculum.

You will have noticed that the homework sent home last week is to go over the next two weeks. We understand that with such a busy week, students will not have the opportunity to complete this in the normal seven days and may be feeling more tired than usual.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you all during the week.

Thanks.

Ana and Hayley

SC2 Learning Snapshot

CONCERT WEEK!!! Final touches have been put on our performance and we are ready to go! It is such an exciting week for everyone involved and we can’t wait to show off all of our hard work. Students in SC2 have continued to shine throughout all of our rehearsals, demonstrating wonderful teamwork, resilience, persistence and of course a growth mindset.

Thank you again for all of the help that we have received in the lead up to the concert. We couldn’t have pulled it all together without you. Show time!

See you at the concert,

Jarrod and Liz

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
