Teaching and Learning
Our 2024 swimming program commences next week for our Prep, Grade 1 and Scotsburn students. Grade 2 and 3 students will take part in swimming in the final week of term and all Grade 4-6 classes will take part in swimming early next term.
Please see the schedule below for swimming lesson times in the coming weeks.
Information has been sent to parents via Compass for P-3 and Scotsburn swimming and will be sent to all 4-6 parents who will receive the relevant information via Compass after the concert. Please check Compass for consent and payment dates and please don’t hesitate to contact the office should you require a payment plan. Please note, you may use CSEF to pay for swimming.
If you are planning to volunteer to assist or supervise at swimming with your child’s class, you must ensure that you have a current Working With Children’s Check on record at the office and that you have read and signed the Child Safe Code of Conduct as part of our compliance for the swimming program. Please contact your child’s classroom teacher or the office for further information.
Additionally, please ensure that the Pre-Swimming Parent Questionnaires that you were provided with last week, are returned to your child’s teacher by the following dates:
- Prep, Grade 1 & Scotsburn (this Friday, 30th August)
- Grade 2 & 3 (next Friday, September 6th)
Grade 4-6 parents/carers will receive these questionnaires early next term.
A reminder that the homework handed out last Friday is not due back at school until Thursday, September 5th. This allows students and families extra time to complete homework tasks knowing that this week is a busy one with the concert.
As always, we encourage parents and carers to reach out to their child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding homework.
Book Week
A big thank you to all our students, teachers and families for supporting another successful book week. We had lots of fun throughout the week celebrating the magic of books. Each day, special activities were run throughout lunchtime to create some excitement and support a love of reading. This included a magic show, book reads, craft activities and our epic book grab. A huge thank you to all families that donated books. It was wonderful to see the excitement on students' faces when browsing the many books and then walking out the door excited about taking home a book to share with their family.
CELEBRATION OF LEARNING
In the final week of term, we have a very special evening coming up - the Celebration of Learning. Please add this important date to your calendar and ensure that you come along to share in your child’s celebration of their learning so far this year. All classroom spaces as well as specialist areas will be open for students to lead their families through to share their learning.
