Our team of students gave it their best throughout the day. So many of our students placed in the top 3. Well done to all involved!

A BIG shout out to students who stepped up to compete in much older events. There were tough contenders for students who ran above their age group and gave it a good go! These students included Amelia Janikowski, Puja Gunasekaran, Fatima Kobeissi, Ahmad Namdar and Hassan Abbas. They not only took on much older athletes and challenged them in these events, but some of these students also placed in the TOP 3! By filling up these events, these students helped increase our points for the day.

Just when we thought we had wrapped the day up, we still had the end results. Lyndale was waiting anxiously. From 9th place onwards it was being announced, then just like that, they announced Lyndale Winners for 2024! All of us in absolute shock! However later in the week it was revealed by the Division Coordinator that result error had occurred which ended up changing the end school results. Lyndale placed in 2nd position with Winning overall school was Keysborough Banksia taking the official win in 2024.

Lyndale demonstrated Resilience in powering through and digging deep, giving it all they could against their competitors when competing. They displayed Respect through their comradery to each other; encouraging each other, great sportsmanship to other schools and good behaviour on the day. Responsibility with showing up to this important event, locating their times and competing in them. Keep showing up and attending these events! Keep putting yourself out there and giving sports/ carnival events ago! Continue to do trainings to improve performance and confidence.

Thank you to all students who competed at Division and to the staff that went out (PET, GRH, ROK)! You did amazing!

Lyndale has come a long way and continues to grow and get better EVERY YEAR in the sports and carnivals areas! You are an inspiration to us all! 2025 will be a great year for all of us!

And a big congratulations to all of our students who represented Lyndale Secondary College in Interschool Sports and to the staff members who ran training sessions and took these students out on the sporting days.

Active School Lunchtime Sports Programs - Term 3

We have been busy in 2024 working towards a whole school approach of being physically active. We have set our active schools priority area and have been working hard with leadership to ensure the additions are delivered this year.

The core purpose of the Department of Education’s Active Schools Framework is to promote physical activity for all students at every opportunity through a whole of school and community approach.

The priority area of the Active Schools Framework that Lyndale Secondary College has again targeted is:

Active Travel

Active travel gets children moving every day. Active travel involves walking, cycling, scooting or other active ways of getting to or from school, for the whole journey or as part of the journey along with other travel modes, such as public transport.

We have upgraded our bike fleet and now improving our bike paths to foster an understanding of road rules along with bike care, safety and important specific bike riding skills.

Students have continued to use the ‘Tag On’ system that rewards students for using active transport as a mode of travel to school. The kiosks where students can record their active travel is in the stadium foyer and next to the library, in the foyer. PE Teachers will continue informing students how to go about this process for the rest of the year.
