Brooke's Message
Monday 2nd September 2024
Hello Families,
The term is flying past, and we are on a race to toward holidays.
Over the past two Fridays, myself Jamie and Steph were invited to be part of the Koorie Curriculum Cluster with two other schools from Wurundjeri Country. We are the only Special School to be invited from across the state of Victoria and feel very privileged to be part of this cluster of schools.
The purpose of this program is for our school to be provided with high-quality professional learning and guidance so that we can: Partner respectfully with Registered Aboriginal Persons (RAPs)s and local Aboriginal communities; build our confidence and capacity in knowledge and use of local protocols and strengthen classroom and whole school approaches to embedding local knowledges and stories in teaching and learning programs.
We have been so lucky to visit both:

Up and Coming Events
We have another Community Connections session coming up on September 10th at 10am. This session will be onsite with representatives from The Brotherhood of St Laurence to answer questions about NDIS. Please let us know if you are coming by calling the admin team on 9743 4966.
Vale Gordon Laulu
It is with a very heavy heart that I write to let you know that one of our students Gordon has passed away. Whilst Gordon was only with us for a short time, he will be remembered for his cheekiness and desire to engage with the people around him. Leaders and staff represented MSS at Gordons funeral this week and paid respect to his family. The ceremony was a true celebration of Gordons life filled with singing and stories.
