Sports Report

Campaspe Tennis Competition

It was a big day of tennis, in hot autumn conditions, for our St Joseph’s College students, at the Campaspe competition on Monday 18 March.

The Senior girls had a magnificent day, dominating the courts with a graceful win against St Mary's Nathalia and also taking out 3 of their 4 singles matches. This will see them progress through to LMR round - well done girls!

The Senior boys played with grit and determination, with some really long sets and close games, to achieve a strong second place at the end of the day. What a great effort boys!

Our Intermediate Boys team played unbelievably well all day, dropping only six games across their six matches. The boys managed to find another level in their final matches against Rochester, with James and Jett winning 8-0 while Jack and Ben came from 4-1 down to win 8-6. Huge congratulations to the boys who will now progress to the LMR round!

Our Intermediate girls had a tough start against Rochester Secondary, but were able to work together to come back and defeat both Kyabram P-12 and St Mary's Nathalia.

In their final matches against St Augustines the girls had one win and one loss, finishing the day in 3rd place overall. Top effort team!

Our Year 7 & 8 boys and girls headed over to Kyabram, where all students participated incredibly well and displayed great teamwork and sportsmanship.

Both boys teams finished on top and will progress to the LMR round!

The girls tried hard all day and we commend them for their efforts and the way they embraced the day.

Well done to all students and to our coaches! Looks like we have some future tennis stars in our midst here at St Joes!

State Swimming

We have two freestyle relay teams (13 Boys & 15 Boys) and Kayla O’Grady competing in the 50m Breast stroke, who are advancing to the State Swimming finals on Friday 19 April at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

What an awesome achievement! Good luck to all of our super swimmers!
