Hands on Learning

Our Hands on Learning programs have had a great start to the year with many exciting projects.

Mr Mai’s building group has been busy sanding and varnishing wooden furniture for the Cafe, restoring the bench seat in student services, along with some impressive landscaping work in the front garden of Cill Dara. The group members are also designing their own wooden crates to paint and use as seats for our HoL area.

Our Cafe group has had an enjoyable experience preparing food for staff, running our very own pop-up cafe! The students have developed their customer service skills, along with creative presentation of food and also money handling. In addition to this they have made sweet treats for the Caritas bake sale, provided care meals to staff and students, and were also involved in catering for the Parish fashion parade.

We are very proud of their team work, and dedication and we look forward to more fun projects in Term 2.
