Week 1 & 2, Term 2

Lok-Lok Eagles have soared into Term 2 and are going to continue their momentum in the rescheduled house soccer tournament that is kicking off today. The excitement is high and knowing the Lok-Lok Eagles we are in for one spectacular game showing off their teamwork, risk-taking, respect and pure skills.  This week we have been lucky enough to hear from the one and only Clayton Ryan himself and he has expressed his excitement about being back in Term 2 and taking part in the House Soccer. He said that ‘it will be a tough game but knows the Lok-Lok Eagles will take every opportunity as it comes and will not fall short of a win’. He has also communicated his concerns about Gulliwan’s striker Chelsea Baker and her lethal left book.  We have not been short on the house token front the last two weeks, with the Lok-Lok Eagles students displaying outstanding Super 7’s rewarding one another for their great efforts. 2/3’s Ryan Devlin was awarded a house token for his outstanding performance of dance monkeys for a few of our ES staff, whilst our very own F/1 Indiah Chandler received an award for her amazing improvement within her classroom from the beginning of the year.  We can’t wait to share with you next week how the soccer went next, and hear from some of our students.

Week 1 & 2, Term 2

As we kick off Term 2 in 2024, the formidable Guliwan Kangaroos are already on the hop towards some exciting milestones, starting with the rescheduled house soccer tournament today! The values of encouragement, respect, teamwork and risk-taking are shining brightly within the Guliwan community and will be crucial more than ever. Let’s check in with some of our students! Willa, a 3/4J Guliwan student, has been demonstrating exceptional leadership across the school, and we can’t wait to see this continue as we hit the sporting fields and classroom challenges. Aiden from 5/6 P is a proud Gulliwan student and it is his manners and encouragement to others that have stood out recently. Aiden and Willa have embodied the Gulliwan values by being bucket-fillers and building up those around them. Keep it up, Kangaroos! On the Gulliwan staff front, Mr. James has loved witnessing the students' enthusiasm for their house and earning tokens whilst participating in class challenges. He is particularly impressed by the camaraderie among the Gulliwan students, highlighted by their team spirit and “Kangaroos” chants. Looking ahead to the coming weeks, we're excited about the array of exciting opportunities for not only the Guliwan Kangaroo students but also our friends from Lok-Lok Eagles, such as SSA 3-6 Aths, Colour Run and 3/4 Camp. We can’t wait to see our students thrive in these activities, alongside their efforts in the classroom, as they continue to build passion and community involvement.
