POLICY: REIQ Lunch with QLD Premier

The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) hosted its second housing industry lunch, this time with members of the QLD Government, including Hon. Steven Miles Premier, Hon. Cameron Dick Deputy Premier and Treasurer, Hon. Meaghan Scanlon Minister for Housing, Local Government and Planning.

The Government was taken to task by some of the real estate industry's leaders over the negative messaging The Premier had disseminated on social media concerning Property Managers. While some bad operators were acknowledged by industry delegates, it was articulated that for the Premier to tarnish the whole industry in a public forum was unacceptable.

The major announcement of the day was that the QLD Government will be announcing the introduction of mandatory CPD training. This news was well received and welcomed with applause.
