It is surprising to realise just how quickly this term has gone and that this weekend will be Easter with the holidays only a few weeks away.

As I look at the children in their classes, I am so impressed at how settled and focused on learning they all are. Even in the lead-up to Sports Day the children remained on task and learning. This is a credit to the families who value what we do each day in the classroom and encourage your children to learn each day. It is also a testament to the teachers who work tirelessly to ensure that each child is being challenged in some way each day.

We take the responsibility of shaping young minds very seriously.

NAPLAN

This last week the Year 3 and 5 students sat their NAPLAN tests. This was seamless thank you to the work of Mrs Wicks who in her curriculum role overseas this in the Junior School. The children all approached this with a level of confidence and we look forward to seeing what we can learn to inform our teaching and programs once we receive the results.

Friendology Parent Workshop

On Monday afternoon, Mrs Venter and Mrs Van der Merwe presented a workshop to parents on our Friendology. We were pleased with the attendance and those parents who were there appreciated the information. Understanding the language and approach that we use at school with friendship challenges is really important and we find we have the most success at setting the students up to negotiate their friendships when we work in conjunction with families. If you are not already utilising the Urstrong website as a parent, please log in and make the most of the many resources available for free.

Parent Connection

Remember to stay for coffee after drop off on a Tuesday morning or arrive early (2:30pm) for pickup on a Friday afternoon. This is a great way to meet and get to know other parents of the Junior School.

Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day

This is such a great celebration when our students are able to share their school, classroom and learning with their Grandparents or Special Friends. I trust that the communication sent out has been shared with Grandparents so that many are able to join us on Wednesday 3 April from 9:00am until 11:00am (please don’t forget that our visitors are to bring a packed picnic recess to share with their grandchildren).

Foundation - Year 6 Student School Clubs

Foundation to Year 6 students are invited to join a Student School Club, from Drawing to Bible Club to Debating.

Each club's activities are on a different day, meaning that students can sign up for as many clubs as they like and are encouraged in their passions!
