On this page: Year 3 - 6 Sports Day | Year 7 - 12 Sports Days | Emmaus Eagles Basketball Club
What a wonderful day of community, full of joyous Year 3 - 6 students, cheering parents and a sea of yellow, green and red! Topaz reigns victorious, having beaten Emerald by just one point- congratulations to the mighty Topaz Tigers!
Combined with stunning weather, Secondary School student helpers and delicious sausage sizzle, students were very happy runners indeed.
Our great thanks goes to the hard work of Kirrilee Collins and Andrew Bloomfield, two of our Physical Education Teachers, who put together this tremendous event.
Emerald takes out the trophy at this year's 7 - 12 Sports Day!
Things happened a little differently this year, with Secondary School Sports Day being spread out over two days, allowing more students the chance to compete and make use of space.
Well done to all of our students, from those who gave it a go to those who were in their happy place tearing up the races!
This weekend saw Emmaus Eagles Basketball Club take out a clean sweep of the SA Church Basketball Grand Finals.
First up we saw a very competitive game between the U12 Boys Blue versus the U12 Girls Gold. The Boys took an early lead but then the Girls chipped-away with baskets here-and-there, putting them within five baskets at 3 minutes to go. Unfortunately that’s where it ended, with the Girls going down by 13 points. What a fantastic summer season these two teams had!
Our U16 Boys played Seeds in their Grand Final game. Seeds came out strong and scored early putting Emmaus into a bit of panic but with a few good stops and some electric passing, the team got a run on. After half-time Seeds once again came back strong with their never-give-in-attitude but Emmaus kept to their gameplan and finished stronger, closing out the win!.
Our U14 Boys played GOBC for the right of U14s Champion. This was a battle that went back and forth in the first half but with Emmaus gaining momentum. The second half was a transformation of the team as they stayed united and encouraged each other in their mistakes and successes, seeing them close-out the Final with a 61 – 23 final score line.
It has been a long hot summer for most families playing Summer Basketball but we can all say well worth the experience after seeing so many Emmaus students go from strength to strength both individually and as a team.
