With the Sacrament of First Reconciliation completed, we look forward to our next Sacrament together as a School and Parish Community: FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST.
We have begun preparations for students in Year 4 who will be receiving Jesus for the first time during the Eucharistic Celebration at Mass. A notice was sent out to each child in Year 4 with:
Please note that only students who have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation in 2023 or 2024 and have been enrolled into the Sacrament preparation via the link will be able to participate in this Special occasion in June.
For families in Years 5 and 6 wishing for their child/ren to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist, please email me ataiacopino@olps.vic.edu.au to confirm your child's possibility of receiving the Sacrament.
With one week to go, we have had a great collection of donations from every year level. But we need to finish strong! Currently, we have raised just over $1000 and with Holy Week upon us, if everyone were to bring just one extra dollar this week, we would close in on $2000 raised for people in need around the world.
Our top 3 classes who have raised the most money so far are:
4D who have raised $71
2A who have also raised $71
2D who have raised $58
With so many classes so very very close, we wonder if there may be a late push and a new class at the top of the donations.
A Big THANK YOU to everyone who wore Purple on a Friday during this LENT season and brought our traditions to life! We give thanks for our combined efforts and praise the love, hope and passion of our students.
Important Dates for each Sacrament will be added closer to the times.
Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist - Year 4
Sacrament of Confirmation - Year 6
It is time for Lent to end and Easter to begin. This weekend we listen to the first of two passion stories as we celebrate Jesus' entry into not only Jersusalem but also deeply in our hearts as he prepares to take our sins with him on the Cross. This passion is Jesus' passion for saving us.
Have a great week ahead and God Bless,
Mr Angelo Iacopino
