God's Love and Care for All

Term 1, Week 8

Dear Parents and Carers,

Camp: Our Year 5 campers had a fantastic time at Don Bosco camp. Lots of fun activities, great food and time with their friends. The Gaga Pit is always the highlight, I was told that some students were up at 7am ready for Gaga pit competitions. Camps are always a great opportunity for students to experience something different and at times come out of their comfort zones. Thank you to parents for supporting the school camp educational program and hopefully the students and teachers will have a restful weekend.

This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday, which occurs on the last Sunday before Easter, and it marks the beginning of the Holy Week. It is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, as believers prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. On Tuesday we will have a whole school liturgy at 11:40 am.  Families are welcome to attend.

I am delighted to announce that 4 of our students' art pieces were selected for the Creative Arts Exhibition at the Catholic Leadership Centre. We congratulate our talented artists, Ivy Price, Cruz Robotis, Hayati Shankupalla and Jack Igho. I would also like to recognise our very talented art teachers Mrs Rupasinghe and Ms Goga for their passion and dedication in ensuring our students have every opportunity to demonstrate their creative talents.

Athletics Day  next Wednesday at Sprint Athletics Track. The weather looks promising with no rain predicted!!! Students have been training all term for the events and are very excited for Wednesday. Please ensure students are wearing their sports uniform with house colour tops. Parents are welcome to attend. The schedule for the day has now been uploaded to the event on COMPASS in the resource section.

We had many parents attend the URSTRONG  Workshop on Tuesday evening. For those that missed it, the recording has been sent out via COMPASS and below is the link for parents to access resources and videos around helping your children build healthy friendships.

Canteen Reminder: Due to limited staffing our canteen menu has needed to be reduced. Please check COMPASS for the updated menu items that will be available. Also just a reminder that only icy poles will be sold during break times. All other snacks need to be purchased via COMPASS orders.

It's a short week next week with school finishing for the term on Thursday at 3:20 pm. Students are welcome to wear casual clothes on this day as a final gold coin donation for Project Compassion.

Prep Enrolments 2025: If you have a child intending to commence school next year, please collect an enrolment form from the School Office.

School Calendar: Please check the School Community Calendar Page for important upcoming events, term dates & school closure days.

Take care
