Divisional Swimming

21 children represented Resurrection school at the Greater Dandenong Divisional Swimming competition last week.  All the children did really well trying their hardest in all the events they were in and even coming away with some ribbons.  Well done to everyone who competed.

Cricket Clinics

We were lucky to have SEDA cricket Academy in last week to deliver some Cricket clinics to our Grade 5, 2 and 1 students.  Here are some pictures of what took place.

Basketball Clinics

We were also lucky to have Bob and Malik come in from BMBA Basketball club and deliver clinics to all of our Grade 1,2,3,4 and 5 students last week.  They had a great time learning new skills and fun in the games they did.  Bob and Malik were fantastic coaches.

If you interested in joining a basketball team details of the club are below.

Play Club

We are running the Resurrection Play Club again this year and are in desperate need of materials and equipment for the children to play with.  Play and build club is still going strong - seeing lots of children in Years 1 and 2 come to use the natural and loose play equipment we have on offer.  We now have a 3 Mud kitchens which the children love to play with.   BUT WE NEED MORE!  Especially the bowels or tubs to replace the ones which have been taken.

Play Club is a place where children can build, imagine and PLAY.  There are no instructions or teaching going on and no rules (accept for our RESKEYS of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience). It is a place for the children to create, build, play imaginativly and just be themselves!  Studies have shown that play builds key aspects of childrens Brain development as well as being a healthy lifestyle activity, it also grows confidence in young people as well as helps connects individuals and communities.

If you have any great equipment which can be used for the children to play with at our club please bring it in to reception.  Below is a list of recommended items (please, nothing that can break easily):

Planks of wood

Sturdy crates

Staneless steal pots, pans and utensils

Plastic cups, bowls, plates and utensils

Rope

Ground sheets

Thick pipes

Unbroken pipes

Buckets and spades

Baking trays

Kitchen untensils

 Thank you
