From the Principal's Desk

Loving God, during this sacred season of Lent, bring me closer to you. Prepare a place in my heart for silence and prayer and rekindle my love for and faith in you.

Hear my prayer during this Lenten journey with you. Let me be honest with myself as I look into my heart and soul, noticing the times I turn away from you. Guide me as I humbly seek to repent and return to your love. May humility guide my efforts to be reconciled with you and live forever in your grace. Give me the strength to commit myself to grow closer to you each day. Amen.

VISION FOR INSTRUCTION- FLOURISHING LEARNERS

(Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools)

All Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools are called to come together in common purpose and vision to make the most of what a Catholic education has to offer so we can make the greatest and most distinctive impact in our classrooms, staffrooms and school communities.

The two goals for instruction in Catholic schools are:

Goal 1- Excellence

As a Catholic school, we will deliver a knowledge-rich, evidence-based teaching and learning program. We believe in teaching excellence, where all teachers are empowered to implement evidence-based practices and deliver the knowledge that students need to become intellectual and moral citizens of the world.

Goal 2- Equity

Every student, regardless of background, achieves literacy and numeracy proficiency.

Our vision is that every student is inspired to flourish and enrich the world. The dignity and worth of each student is valued which places the individual student at the heart of what our school does. Our educators are dedicated to providing all students with fundamental literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring their active engagement in society while lifelong learning.

To achieve these goals, we are committed to evidence-based instruction and the active promotion of equity and excellence. We aim to deliver the best educational outcome for every student across the breadth of the Victorian curriculum.

Our school is currently focusing on further embedding the Science of Reading, including the development of rich vocabulary and comprehension skills, building students' writing skills across all genres and focusing on deeply embedding students' ability to retrieve and use their mathematical knowledge. Maths is the focus of our professional learning on the first day of Term 2. We will be working with experts to further our collective knowledge and expertise so that all students will benefit.

Wishing Everyone the blessings of Easter and a restful holiday break.
