Pictured above: St Mary's College 3/4 soccer players are all smiles after their game.

The St Mary's College swimming team successfully competed at the Junior Southern Sports Association of Tasmanian Independent Schools (JSSATIS) on Monday 25 March and the Southern Tasmania Catholic Primary School Sports Association (STCPSSA) Primary Swimming Carnival on Friday 5 April.

All swimmers represented the College beautifully, with pride and respect. It's always an honour to be associated with our teams. To say we are proud is an understatement.

Congratulations and well done to all competitors of both carnivals.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Di Cubit for helping out with our team at the JSSATIS swimming carnival and Talia, Matilda, Rosie, Evie, Hayley, Maggie and Madeleine, our Senior School students who assisted at the STCPSSA swimming carnival.

The end of Term 1 means the end of our Term 1 sports! We have had a great term of sport with multiple teams entered in all rosters.

I extend my huge appreciation to all coaches of our soccer, tennis and flippa ball teams. The personal commitment and sacrifice by our coaches should never be underestimated or go unnoticed and I cannot thank them enough for putting their hand up, especially when for some it is going out of their comfort zone. Ultimately, with no coaches, there would be no teams!

Thank you also to all families who allow and support their children to participate and represent the College on the sporting field. Next term we look forward to supporting and cheering on our hockey, netball and water polo teams.

I wish all families a lovely and relaxing break.
