Student achievements

Congratulations to the following students

Taylah Hayes (Year 12), who is off to Poland and Italy to represent Australia in judo at the Junior European Cups. Taylah has worked incredibly hard to secure her spot on the Judo Australia Junior Team and the College wishes her well for competition. Good luck, Taylah!

Olivia Hunniford-Webb (Year 11) and Isobel Geard (Year 10), who have been offered positions with the JackJumpers work experience program for the April school holidays. Olivia and Isobel will be working alongside community coaches as they introduce the skills of basketball to participants of school basketball camps and clinics. We trust this will be an incredibly enriching experience for you both. Well done on your success.

Milah Hatten (Year 9) and Macy Devine (Year 8), who have been selected to represent Tasmania at the 2024 Australian Athletics Championships in Adelaide. The students have been hard at work training for the championships, which take place from 10-19 April. Milah will be representing Tasmania in the U16 Women discus and U18 discus, and Macey in the 3000m walk.

Kennedy Williams (Year 9), who has been selected for the Tasmanian Devils Talent Pathway U16 Girls Squad that will travel to Blacktown this weekend for the Marsh AFL National Development Championships - U16 Girls.

Lexie Champion (Year 4), who has been recognised in the 2024 STEM Girls Day Out challenges, which she entered into as part of the recent International Women's Day celebrations. One of the challenges required participants to research an inspiring woman working in STEM using Google artificial intelligence (AI). Lexie's project on Professor Fiona Woods, an Australian skin surgeon and burns specialist, earned her a prize for her research, including a STEM magazine and backpack from Google. Amazing work, Lexie!
