Term Two Highlights: Celebrating a Term of Learning, Growth and Community

As Term 2 comes to a close, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate all the fantastic things our students have been part of over the past eleven weeks.

From the very beginning, students jumped back into learning with energy and enthusiasm. Our Year 6 leaders showed great respect representing the school at the local ANZAC Day ceremony @ the RSL, setting the tone for a term full of pride and participation.

Education Week was a true highlight, with teddy bears’ picnic for 2026 Preps, our vibrant Book Fair, and a lovely turnout for Grandparents’ Day. It was heart-warming to see our school community come together.

Students also got active with cross country, girls’ footy, and archery sessions, while our Year 5/6s enjoyed an unforgettable leadership experience at Don Valley Camp. Our Year 1/2 students showed great courage on their very first school camp!

We also welcomed some special visitors – the Alpha Show’s King Arthur performance had everyone laughing, while the Life Education Van and Henny Penny egg hatching program brought hands-on learning to life. Meanwhile, our senior students explored self-worth and resilience during the Dolly’s Dream workshops.

Throughout the term, students continued to work hard in the classroom, show kindness to one another, and live our school values each day. We’re incredibly proud of them.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for all their behind-the-scenes work, and to our families for their ongoing support.

Wishing all our students and families a safe, restful and fun-filled holiday. We look forward to another exciting term ahead in Term 3!

Department releases ‘Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools’ policy

Fostering Respect and Inclusion at Launch Primary School

At Launch Primary School, we are fortunate to have a warm and welcoming school community where kindness, fairness and inclusion are valued by our students, staff and families.

While our school may not have a great deal of cultural diversity compared to some others, we are proud of the way our community continues to show respect and appreciation for people from all backgrounds. These values are central to who we are, and they help us prepare our students to thrive in an increasingly diverse and connected world.

The Department of Education has recently published a new Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools policy, which serves as a timely reminder of the important role schools play in promoting inclusive, respectful environments for all.

We also recognise that events happening in Australia or overseas can sometimes affect individuals or communities in different ways. It’s important that we continue to support our students in understanding the importance of empathy, respectful behaviour, and standing against racism and discrimination in any form.

We thank our families for continuing to partner with us in building a school culture where every student feels safe, included and respected—regardless of their background or beliefs.

If you or your child ever have concerns or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are always here to help and listen.

Preparing for Term 3: Winter Uniform Reminder

As we head into the school holidays, it’s a great time to check that your child has all the winter uniform items they need to return to school in Term 3 feeling comfortable, warm, and ready to learn.

We often find that jumpers and jackets go missing throughout the term. If you are missing any items, please take a moment to check our lost property area at the office—you might be surprised by what’s waiting to be reunited with its owner!

If you’re in need of extra items, our Parents and Friends second-hand uniform racks—located in the corridor area—have a good range available at affordable prices. These are a fantastic option for picking up extras as your child grows.

While we are very flexible when it comes to footwear to ensure students' growing feet are comfortable, we do ask that students return wearing either runners or black school shoes. This helps ensure they are safe and well-prepared for both classroom activities and active play outside.

Thank you for your continued support in helping students feel confident and ready for school. We look forward to seeing everyone back for a great Term 3!

Coming Soon: Launch PS Production – Back in Time

We are thrilled to announce that in Term Three, Launch Primary School students will take to the stage for our bi-annual school production, Back in Time!

Our cast and crew have already begun preparations, and there’s a real buzz of excitement around the school as students get ready to bring this special performance to life. Back in Time promises to be a fun and memorable journey through history—filled with music, movement and plenty of surprises!

This is always a highlight on our school calendar and a wonderful opportunity for students to shine, build confidence, and celebrate their creativity.

We can’t wait to share more details with you early in Term Three, including performance dates, ticket information and how families can get involved.
