Update on Lead Coach Recruitment

On behalf of the Committee, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we work through the recruitment process for a new Head Coach.

We recognize that this has been a period of uncertainty, and that the many changes to training timetables, coaching arrangements, and general club operations have presented challenges for swimmers, parents, and coaches alike. Your flexibility and willingness to adapt during this time has not gone unnoticed, and we are genuinely grateful for the trust you’ve placed in the committee to navigate this transition carefully and thoughtfully.

We’re pleased to share that the recruitment process has attracted a number of highly experienced and impressive applicants—individuals who bring a wealth of knowledge, passion for the sport, and a strong track record in swimmer development. We are currently progressing through the next stages of interviews and evaluations, and we’re optimistic about securing the right person to lead the Club into its next chapter. Our focus remains on finding a coach who aligns with our Club values and is committed to fostering a positive and high-performing environment for all athletes.

We also want to acknowledge the valuable feedback many of you have shared over the past weeks. Whether it’s been through emails, or informal conversations your input has helped shape our approach and priorities. We hear you, and we are committed to ensuring all members feel included, validated, and respected—especially during this time of transition.

A special thank you to Brendan, who has stepped into the Interim Head Coach role and provided vital leadership and continuity for both swimmers and coaches. His dedication, adaptability, and calm guidance have been essential in helping us maintain momentum and stability.  We also want to thank coaches Ava, Matt, Lucy, Bella, Tarni and Ben for their ongoing flexibility and adaptability, which have been crucial in supporting the team through this period of change.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Wayne, who generously came on board to help run several of the Senior Squad sessions. His contribution has been incredibly valuable and much appreciated by both swimmers and families.

The strength of Ringwood Swimming Club lies in its people. We are proud of the way our community continues to come together, support one another, and remain focused on the shared goal of helping our swimmers thrive. Thank you for sticking with us, for your patience, and for your belief in the Club’s future.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as the recruitment process progresses, and we look forward to sharing some positive news soon.

Regards,
