From the HSC Economics Class

The Year 12 Economics class have demonstrated the Blue Mountains Grammar School value of Excellence by attending two HSC study days.

The first was held at Penrith Selective High School where students heard from experienced teachers about exam technique, the trends in Australia’s Balance of Payments, and from Sydney Morning Herald economics columnist, Ross Gittins.

The second occurred at the Polish Club in Ashfield where the class experienced a full-day masterclass by their textbook’s author, Matthew Parsons. Students were reassured of their understanding of course content, as a lot was familiar territory. However, there were useful techniques divulged about the different exam sections.

Being a School located in the Blue Mountains has many positives, however one implication of our location is the distance we have to travel for excursions, in order to remain HSC competitive.

Blue Mountains Grammar School students are just as capable as those of any other, if not more so. They are willing to be early risers, step towards challenge, and invest in their own not-so-distant HSC exam futures.

It was a pleasure to take them to these events, and I can attest that their behaviour was laudatory, and they showed the presenters nothing but studious attention and respect. I would expect nothing other than that from Grammar students.
