BGKLLEN ‘Chosen Career Pathway’ Childcare Tours

On the 20th May, a number of our Year 11 and 12 students attended a program organised by BGKLLEN. BGKLLEN were running a series of visits to a number of childcare centres and associated VET providers. This was an opportunity for students who have chosen a career pathway into Early Childhood Education to gain a firsthand insight into the profession. All of the students are currently completing their VET certificate in childcare.

This involved visiting two local early childhood education centres/providers and hearing from employers about the profession. The students could see how a centre is organised and the different roles required, career opportunities and progression in this pathway.

Olivia, Ruby, Lil and Eden, along with Di Firth our workplace and VET coordinator, also visited Holmesglen Institute to have a tour of the early childhood education facilities and hear from current students studying this certificate and their future plans in the profession.

The students learnt about the profession connecting with educators, students at TAFE and employers/staff in the profession.
