Lok-Lok

A big well done to all of our Lok Lok Eagles team for an amazing Semester One! We are leading the token count and the efforts in the classroom, playground and sports fields have been outstanding. Let’s keep up the great work as we head into Semester Two and take out the trophy at the end of the year!

Today we’re going to give a little shout out to one of our Lok Lok leaders who found herself in the Geelong Advertiser this week!

‘Powerhouse’ shooter Krystal Baker dominated for Barwon Heads on the weekend and scored plenty of goals against Ocean Grove!

In next weeks addition, we’re going to highlight some different Lok Lok Eagles who are also doing well at different sports or activities in the community.

Please send through some photos of your child playing in their respective sports and activities if you can!

Remember, Eagles Soar As One!

Celebrating Leadership, Passion and Pride in Kanyul

Welcome back to Term 3!

After a well-deserved break, it has been wonderful to see Kanyul students return to school with fresh energy, ready to take on new challenges and continue striving for their personal best. We’re incredibly proud of the effort and growth shown by all students in Term 2, across the classroom, playground, and beyond. From outstanding participation in our 150th school celebrations to commitment in learning and teamwork in sport, Kanyul students continue to embody the values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

We look forward to seeing our Kanyul leaders shine once again this term—through their curiosity, their kindness, and the way they lift up those around them. Let’s continue to support one another and take pride in being part of something great!

Spotlight on Evelyn W from 2/3 J

This week, we had the pleasure of interviewing Evelyn from 2/3J, a proud Kanyul student and a shining example of what it means to lead with kindness and joy.

Thanks for jumping into this week’s edition of Press from the Pouch, Evelyn. What was your highlight from the holidays? My highlight from the holidays was when I found out that I’ll be performing in a 4-hour Cabaret show this weekend! The performance will include tap dancing, singing, and other exciting routines. I am so excited to be doing this.

What was your favourite sporting moment from the holidays?I loved watching the Geelong Cats beat St Kilda in the AFL with my Dad during the holidays. Sharing that moment at the footy with my Dad made it extra special!

Who is your sporting Hero?

My Dad. He always spoils me. He loves the footy so much, and I want to be passionate like him. We love that connection to family and admire Evelyn’s thoughtful appreciation for the people who inspire her, as she continues to develop her musical and performing talents. Evelyn is a powerful presence inside and outside the classroom. Her leadership, passion for the performing arts and kindness towards others make her a true role model in Kanyul. Keep it up, Evelyn! Who will the spotlight land on in our next edition of ‘Press from the Pouch’?

Looking Ahead

Term 3 is filled with opportunities for our Kanyul students to shine—from Book Week to school excursions, interschool sport, and continued progress across all learning areas. We can’t wait to celebrate your growth and achievements over the coming weeks.

Go Kanyul! Kanga Kanga Kanga, Roo Roo Roo!
