18-22 August 2025
We're excited to share that planning is well underway for Children's Book Week 2025, and this year's theme is "Book an Adventure", celebrating 80 years of Australian stories!
Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of fun and engaging activities that highlight the richness of Australian children's literature. It will be a wonderful opportunity to inspire our students' love for reading and storytelling.
Keep an eye on Compass for further details about:
A potential special author visit (fingers crossed!)
... and lots more adventures through books!
We look forward to celebrating the joy of reading with our students and families.
Stay tuned!
There is an optional opportunity for Grade 3-6 students to participate in the Australian Maths Competition this year, which will be held from Tuesday 5th Aug – Thursday 7th August. The cost for students to participate is $9. The competition is run at school during class time.
The competition is run online and students will work through 30 problems that have been designed by Australia’s leading educators and academics who have a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards.
The competition is in a test like format where students work through problems independently. The questions get progressively more difficult and complex. If your child would like to compete, please notify me by next Wed, July 30th and I will provide you with a consent form for the competition and payment will be via QKR.
If you have any questions, please contact me via Email.
A huge thank you to all the parents (and grandparents) who have and are currently contacting books for our class libraries and take home book collections. Your help is SO greatly appreciated. Loads of new take home books have made their way into classrooms thanks to your work!
