We’re excited to welcome all our families back for the start of Term 3. We hope you all enjoyed some wonderful family connection time over the past two weeks and are all feeling refreshed and rejuvenated for a busy second semester.
While this term is shorter at just 9 weeks, it’s certainly no less action-packed! There’s a wonderful mix of engaging learning opportunities and fun events ahead, and we can’t wait to see our students continue to grow, connect, and thrive. Let’s make it a great term together!
We have a few staffing changes and exciting professional opportunities happening this term:
We appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to provide rich and consistent learning experiences for all students.
As mentioned in previous newsletters;
Pupil Free Day -Thursday, August 7th
Kelly Club will offer a program for parents/families registered. Please keep an eye out for their communication regarding this.
Teaching Excellence Program 2025 – Term 2 update
We would like to show our continued support for Miss Brea Petzke's participation in the Teaching Excellence Program by providing the school community with an update on her learnings.
Brea has attended 2 discipline days and 2 Teaching Excellence Learning Community days over the course of this semester. Brea has enhanced her knowledge and skills in her chosen discipline. She has learned collaboratively alongside colleagues from across the state and has brought back new understandings of contemporary teaching approaches and strategies to Ceres.
We look forward to her continued success in Term 3!
We are proud to have Brea represent our school and support the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership in raising the status of this amazing profession!
Unlocking Potential – Term 2 Update
We would like to acknowledge and celebrate Jess Goward’s participation in the Unlocking Potential course, a leadership development program designed to build the capacity of emerging school leaders across Victoria.
Throughout Term 2, Jess has engaged in intensive professional learning as part of the program and will further extend her leadership experience through a five-week placement at Mirripoa Primary School in Term 3. This opportunity will allow Jess to apply her learning in a new context, working alongside experienced leaders and bringing valuable insights back to our school community.
We are incredibly proud to support Jess on this journey and look forward to seeing the positive impact of her experiences on our school.
Jess’s participation is a great example of our school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and supporting the Department of Education’s vision for excellence in Victorian government schools.
We would again like to thank our Semester 1 JSC members for their wonderful and successful tenure to begin the year under Mr Murrell's guidance.
At our first assembly of Term 3 (today), we will acknowledge and present our Semester 2 representatives with their badges as they begin their leadership journey. We all know you will do a fantastic job, also.

NAPLAN 2025 reports will be sent home with students from Monday 21 July. Each student who completed NAPLAN will receive an Individual Student Report (ISR).
To help families understand the results, an information brochure is available on the NAPLAN website including a useful YouTube video explaining the reports. There are also versions of the brochure available in multiple languages.
If you have a sibling of a current student needing to be enrolled next year, then we ask that you notify the office ASAP as we are sending out placement offers to external families next week.
Enrolment forms are now available from the office.
Our student led Assembly is today at 2:30 pm. Our assembly is an important part of our school. It is an opportunity to proactively reinforce our school values and expectations through the acknowledgement and celebration of our students and school.
