Kitchen

It’s been a huge few weeks with every year level getting hands-on and cooking up a storm — and the best part is, so much of it came fresh from our school garden!

Preps & Year 1s:

  • Created colourful Playdough

  • Baked fresh Choc Chip Muffins

  • Cooked Traditional Damper and made Homemade Butter in a jar

Year 2s:

  • Flipped warm Apple Pancakes with Cinnamon Sugar, grating the apples themselves

  • Assembled their own Mini Pizzas

  • Baked  Choc Chip Muffins

Year 3s:

  • Rolled and filled crunchy Spring Rolls, using crisp cabbage straight from our garden and chopping all their own vegetables

Year 4s:

  • Made both Gözleme and Spring Rolls, with the students chopping the fresh garden spinach and other veggies for the fillings

Year 5s:

  • Every bench made a different flavoured Risotto, chopping vegetables and roasting fresh pumpkin from our garden to stir through

  • Served with homemade Garlic Pizza for lunch

Year 6s:

  • Created tasty Mexican Bowls, preparing all their own fresh toppings

  • One class prepared a full Morning Tea — with Sausage Rolls, Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs and Dumplings

  • Another class made Homemade Gnocchi with a creamy Chicken, Spinach (freshly picked!) & Cream Sauce

Kids in the Kitchen (Special Cooking Group):

  • Made crispy Arancini Balls and crunchy Spring Rolls

The students did a fantastic job with kitchen skills this term — grating apples, chopping veggies, roasting pumpkin, rolling pastry, and folding dumplings. Great teamwork, careful prep, and big smiles all around!

🌱 Garden Update

The school garden is absolutely thriving!

  • We’ve just planted new broccoli seedlings.

  • The students harvested beautiful cabbage for our spring rolls, tender spinach for the gnocchi and Gözleme, and fragrant spring onions and leeks that added loads of flavour to our risottos.

A big thank you to all the students who help care for the garden — your hard work makes our kitchen meals extra special.

🥙 Recipe of the Week

This week’s favourite recipe is our Garden Spinach & Feta Gözleme — made even better with spinach picked fresh from our garden! The students loved rolling out their dough, filling it with greens and cheese, and watching it turn golden and crispy on the pan.

It’s a fun, easy recipe to try at home.

Thank You!

A big thank you to all students, teachers, and helpers for your amazing work this term. It’s been wonderful to see everyone learning, laughing, and sharing delicious food together.

See you next term for more kitchen and garden fun!
