Grade Six

We can’t believe Term 2 is already coming to an end. It’s been a busy one in Grade 6 with lots of great learning and fun along the way.

Throughout this term, each Grade 6 class attended Life Education sessions, where students took part in some really valuable discussions about decision making and how the choices we make can shape our future.

Our interschool sports program has been in full swing, with students representing our school in netball, T-ball, kickball, AFL, and soccer. A big highlight was Gala Day, where the teams did an amazing job. Some standout results included:

Kickball – 1st place

Girls AFL – 1st place

Boys AFL – 2nd place

Mixed Netball – 2nd place

We’re so proud of the effort and teamwork shown by all students, regardless of the results!

In the classroom, we’ve been exploring poetry in English and having a go at writing different styles of poems. In Maths, we’ve been working on chance and data and building our understanding of measurement through some hands-on activities.

Our Social Justice unit has continued this term, with students continuing to think deeply and have some really thoughtful conversations about fairness and how we can take action to help others.

We also had a great Athletics Day, with students getting involved in lots of different events and showing fantastic sportsmanship and house spirit. It was awesome to see everyone giving it a go!

With one more week to go, we’re finishing off the term strong and looking forward to a well-earned break!
